BSC Testnet Funds - The Faucet

The BSC testnet faucet is awaiting your claim Spartans! Go forward and dip into the sweet faucet in preparation for testnet.

BSC Testnet Funds - The Faucet

The below is a guide on how to interact with the BSC testnet faucet.

TLDR:  — Already know how to use the faucet to get testnet funds? It would really assist contributors with testnet efforts by sending BSC testnet funds to our testing contributors (Ideally; BNB, BUSD, DAI & BTC)

The Testnet BSC Faucet

We are almost at the point of getting the public testnet up and running!
To make the most of TestNet right from day one, there are two ways that you; the elite Spartan Warriors can assist the contributors by;

  • Sending testnet funds to contributor testnet wallet, and/or:
  • Setting yourself up to be able to interact with the testnet DApp (when it goes live) to test and explore — with the goal to help keep the pools balanced with the outside market (be our arbitrageurs!) and provide feedback / try to find bugs!

Binance has in-depth guides on creating a wallet and interacting with Binance Smart Chain Testnet:

Testnet Assets

Before we begin; it's worth noting testnet assets whilst they may look like real assets with the same value as the assets they are pretending to be (BTCB, BUSD, BNB etc)  they in fact have no value other than the utility they provide within the Testnet ecosystem. No; you cannot send 1 * testnet-BTCB to Binance and sell it for a sweet payday! These assets only live within the Testnet environment and simply mimic the token contracts of their real assets.

Wait I thought testnet assets were free?

They most certainly are: however, they are released in a controlled fashion so that the test network doesn’t get hyper-inflated and too ineffective. To do this, individual wallets are only able to claim relatively small amounts every day or so (e.g. only 10*BUSD or  1*BNB once a day, which can be quite limiting)

How Do I Get Involved?

The simplest way is to switch your Binance Chain Extension Wallet  (or any capable wallet to Binance Smart Chain Test Network) to access your testnet address, copy your receiving address and then go to the faucet, paste in the address and get some testnet assets. Remember to claim the 1 BNB first so that you have gas to play around with the other Testnet assets.

The contributors testnet wallet for example is: 0x3d2aCFafd10600896C90a325c31700B3E1E2D791

BSC Testnet Faucet:

Binance Smart Chain: Faucet
Be sure to select “Give Me BNB” the first time so that you will have BNB to cover network fees etc going forward

Tokens that the contributors want to focus on during testing are as follows…

  • BUSD
  • DAI
  • BNB
  • BTCB

Once you have built up some funds; if you are not likely to help with Testnet but still want to help; feel free to send your testnet funds to the contributors to distribute, it's like sending any other transaction, just send from your testnet wallet to the contributors' address below:

Contributors Address: 0x3d2aCFafd10600896C90a325c31700B3E1E2D791

I want to help with testnet too!

In that case, you too will want to build up some test-net assets in anticipation of interacting with the DApp when launched on testnet.

Contributors will announce when testnet is live to the public and how to provide feedback. Likely directly via GitHub to make life easier.

Build software better, together
GitHub is where people build software. More than 65 million people use GitHub to discover, fork, and contribute to over 200 million projects.

Keep an eye out for guides coming soon to explain how to get setup, connected and help balance the pools during the public V2 testnet! For now; claim those faucet funds and get prepared!

Community Contribution

Spartan Protocol is at its core, a community-driven and led project. In this vein, the more contributors the better. There is a great opportunity for community members to contribute by making LP reward analysis tools, etc.

Recently, community members have been graciously funnelling in to contribute to explainer articles, ideas and even $SPARTA donations to support the growth of the platform.
