SpartanDEV: 14FEB22 - 20FEB22
Quite the stimulating week of liquidity wars with the USDT pool continuing to stockpile liquidity and the USDC pool coming out and startling everyone. Read all about it!
Summary
Quite the stimulating week of liquidity wars with the USDT pool continuing to stockpile liquidity and the USDC pool coming out and startling everyone with a quick leap from one of the lowest TVL pools to surpassing the USDT pool and bouncing into the top 4!
Through the week we also saw an exciting new ONTO Wallet staking campaign, a new $RAZE pool listed by the community and much more. Read on below to get your week's wrap-up of sizzling news.
USDC #OpenTheGates -> 200K
The USDC pool kicked off the week with some surprise liquidity suddenly coming in and plugging up the pool! The recent excitement over the USDT Curation and swap activity potential we are seeing there might have ignited some forward-thinking attraction from Spartans to get ahead and see what kind of revenue they can induce.
The liquidity caps for USDC were raised from 100K to 200K in reaction to this.
ONTO Wallet Staking Campaign
A big ONTO Wallet campaign kicked off during the week to incentivize users to stake USDTp LP tokens in the DaoVault earning them extra SPARTA yield and DAO weight in proposals. This campaign is now over and an update will be released once the numbers are crunched and the winner list is finalised.
USDC #OpenTheGates -> 400K
The USDC pool didn't wait long before jumping to its liquidity caps yet again! An extra 100K must not have been enough for our hungry Spartans. In reaction to this, the liquidity caps doubled from 200K to 400K with USDC looking to be soon on the heels of the USDT pool.
USDC #OpenTheGates -> 650K
It once again did not take long for the USDC pool, impressively jumping up to its new liquidity caps. The caps were this time raised up to match the USDT pool at 650K. USDC at this point was not showing any signs of slowing down its liquidity drive forwards!
USDC + USDT #OpenTheGates -> 1M each
USDC soon asserted its seriousness by passing USDT in liquidity and then proceeding to hit its caps once again. Both the USDT & USDC pools were then raised to 1M caps each to allow in more liquidity. USDC actually then proceeded to hit its 1M caps before the week ended and had its caps raised yet again to 1.5M.
- The USDT pool now sits at 680K liquidity
- The USDC pool now sits at just over 1M liquidity
Both stablecoin pools are really starting to generate some decent revenue which should work towards making that liquidity stay and potentially help attract more.
It might be time to start discussing as a community whether we Curate the USDC pool next!
Friday #LearnToEarn Quiz Results
Our previous #FridayFor300 quiz results are in with 3 lucky winners to the question:

New Friday #LearnToEarn Quiz
There is a new #LearnToEarn quiz up and live for Spartans keen to learn more about the protocol and win some SPARTA in the process!
What fee model do the Spartan Protocol pools utilize?
Don't forget to check the hint link in the Gleam task list if you aren't sure, it links you directly to the docs where the answer is right in front of you, absorb the info and enter the comp!
After vetting correct answers and users who didn't pass the Gleam verification checks each week the pool of potential winners that are randomly picked from is quite small relative to the usual Twitter competition out there, so the probability is quite high for Spartans who enter each week and take the time to do all the steps + answer correctly. Worthwhile doing this every week if you are on the fence Spartans!
New Pool: $RAZE
Towards the end of the week, we had a new pool created by a Spartan community member, listing $RAZE as a tradable asset within the Spartan Protocol ecosystem and its aggregation partners.
The token icon/info has now been updated and the pool is currently sitting almost at its liquidity caps, due for an #OpenTheGates in the coming week.
Have a read about Raze Network on their official website and learn more about their privacy protocol looking to help add a privacy layer to multiple public chains. Expect more info to follow soon from the Spartan Protocol community on what they like about the project and why they listed its token in a Spartan pool.
Most Traded Leaderboard: $SPARTA
We once again had more signs of heavy SPARTA token activity on-chain, with SPARTA popping in and out of a few leaderboards in some tools such as WhaleStats. Don't forget Spartans, this is due to the very important utility that the SPARTA token provides and the entire protocol relies on.
Physical NFT Drum Giveaway
Our in-house chair-hater @ReidyPhillip (aka Thespis) & community rallying powerhouse has gone ahead and had a unique handmade drum made to give away to a lucky Spartan community member! Follow the Gleam.io link in the tweet to get involved, don't hesitate though, only 1 week left to enter!
Some creativity & fun is recommended here in answering the tasks/questions, this drum is a massive prize and a huge symbol of Spartan pride & devotion. Show your alignment with Spartan Protocol by telling us what you love about it!
SpartAnalytics
Our community collates the public Spartan Protocol data into a PDF report each month covering Google Search (impressions, clicks, devices, keywords & geographical) & Twitter analytics. You can find the full January report here.
GitHub Activity - Spartan DApp
LiqAdd Form Type
Just a minor change in the DApp this week with the form/input format/type being changed over.
To Do:
The next major item for the DApp will be to create a new branch with all stylesheets ripped out, starting by rebuilding the responsive structure of the major elements of the DApp using CSS-grid, then re-organising the file structure to make it a little more friendly, then begin building out a revamped theme/style for the react-bootstrap elements (light & dark modes)
GitHub Activity - Mini Subgraph for ONTO
A special-built Subgraph was required to help track the competitors in the ONTO Wallet staking campaign. This was built, tested and deployed this week and is currently being used to help validate and finalise the winners of the prizes from the campaign.
Expect some more info to follow. (This repo will be removed from future weekly updates as it is intended to be a one-off)
GitHub Activity - Spartan Site
The new website repo got some more love again this week:
- Updated fonts to use less condensed versions throughout (kept them only on buttons)
- Added BSCscan logo/link to the header hero section
- Fine-tuned the fonts and balanced the header hero section
- Darkened the overlay in the content sections
- Decreased font sizes & changed font styles throughout content sections
- Improved the navbar style for mobile layout, adding the project name and changing the 'Open Dapp' button style + hamburger menu icon
To Do:
GitHub Activity - Spartan Docs
To Do:
Need help with all sections ranging from grammar/spelling to copy-content creation, graphics (need to make it more visually appealing now!), to video versions of the text guides (these would be great under each relevant section), text guides and so on.
Some GitHub tasks are setup here:
GitHub Activity - Spartan <> Bram NFTs
Completed, all that remains is distribution! Please be patient and allow the contributors time to work out how these NFTs will be distributed. In the meantime please check out Bram on Twitter and show your support!
To Do:
- Plan & distribute the NFTs
GitHub Activity - Spartan UI Library
This component library has taken a bit of a back seat for now with a focus on cleaning up the existing DApp repo instead of rushing this one. Contributors can come back to this & work towards the initial plan of making it a whole component UI library (for all community DApps, not just the current one) instead of the in-between phase that it was becoming (the partial work will shift from here to a branch on the DApp repo soon for the DApp-refresh phase to continue)
Hence the below to-do list is now pointing towards what was previously meant to be the 'next stage':
To Do:
GitHub Activity - Spartan Subgraph
No activity in the subgraph repo for the week.
GitHub Activity - Spartan Resources
No activity in this repo for the week.
GitHub Activity - Spartan Arena Contracts
No public Github activity on the NFT/Gaming contracts this week.
GitHub Activity - Spartan API
No public Github activity on the API this week.
GitHub Activity - Spartan Contracts
No public Github activity on the DeFi contracts this week.

Community Contribution
Spartan Protocol is at its core, a community-driven and led project. In this vein, the more contributors the better. There is a great opportunity for community members to contribute by making LP reward analysis tools, etc.
Recently, community members have been graciously funnelling in to contribute to explainer articles, ideas and even $SPARTA donations to support the growth of the platform.
